Description

In 2025 Sanwa stopped production of their JLX joystick in favour of a slight redesign to the JLX2.  Like the venerable JLF and the discontinued JLX the JLX2 is Sanwa’s offering for an affordable yet high quality 8 way joystick.

Comes with 2 dust washers.  Option it up with your choice of a cable, ball top, bat top and shaft extension.

Here’s Sanwa’s word on the new JLX2:

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for faster input speeds. To meet this need, Sanwa adopted a larger actuator (JLF-P-W: White PS pipe) for the JLX series as a standard, aiming to shorten the distance required to fully actuate the switches, which is greater than JLF. However, post-release user feedback indicated concerns about accidental or unintended inputs and reverse inputs being more frequent compared to the JLF. Sanwa believes that the difference in the actuator (the different feel of operation) has been a significant factor hindering the transition from JLF to JLX. Therefore, for the JLX2 series, they have decided to return to the same actuator (JLF-P-5: Black PS pipe) specifications as the JLF as the standard.

Although the occurrence is very rare, They have received reports of washers lifting or shifting due to factors such as the amount and degradation of grease, and the accumulation of dirt. This issue has been previously identified in the JLF series and was addressed with improvements in the JLX. However, this change in the JLX2 represents a further refinement to address these concerns. Sanwa is to promote the adoption of the JLX2, which offers superior dimensional accuracy and production efficiency compared to the JLF. While they understand that transitioning users from the familiar JLF may not be easy, They anticipate that by using the same pipe as the JLF, the operational feel will be consistent, leading to greater user satisfaction with the JLX2 compared to the original JLX.
