Alutimo Shim Pack for Precision Adjustment
– Alutimo 1mm Shim
– Alutimo 0.2mm Shim
The shims serve to extend travel distance for enhanced customisation.
By default, the Alutimo switch features the MX Speed Silver, with a 1mm Shim pre-installed.
Enthusiasts have the flexibility to fine-tune actuation points using the shims. You can opt for concise, quick-acting buttons without shims or ultra-sensitive buttons reminiscent of MX Red/Blue switches using 2 x 1mm shims.
Utilizing the 1mm Shim as Default:
This practice stems from the actuation point variations inherent in the MX Silver switch.
The Speed Silver exhibits a tolerance range of -0.6mm to +0.6mm, a substantial span of 1.2mm. The 1mm shim addresses this spectrum, accounting for potential discrepancies between switches.
For instances where the individual Speed Silver tolerance aligns near -0.6mm, users can remove the 1mm shim for a shortened key press. Conversely, if a particular Speed Silver switch nears +0.6mm, utilizing the Alutimo sans the 1mm shim may result in missed or incomplete key presses.
0.2mm Shim Enhancement:
Enthusiasts can fine-tune individual MX switch discrepancies with the 0.2mm shim, crafting the ultimate responsive MX button configuration.
